Spring 2012 Bazaar
March 31st and April 1st
The Bazaars are our biggest fundraisers contributing 75% of the proceeds to our Welfare Budget. We are able to raise approximately $60,000. These funds are distributed to the Yokota community through donations to many worthwhile causes such as schools, library, clubs & organizations, family & youth programs and Air Force wide programs.
Volunteers are needed to:
Shifts are as follows: Setup assistance, vendor assistance and cashiers are needed for both morning and afternoon shifts, cleanup volunteers are needed for early evening on our closing day. Volunteering has Perks! SOFA-sponsored volunteers receive early bird shopping privileges as well as the chance to win door prizes. Food Donations Needed! If you are unable to volunteer your time during the bazaar, that doesn't mean that you can't still help! Donations of baked goods and finger foods are needed for the vendor lounge. SOFA-sponsored volunteers who bring donations of baked goods or finger foods will be entitled to early bird shopping. Thrift ShopThe YOSC Thrift Shop offers a wonderful opportunity to purchase gently used merchandise such as clothing, toys, household items and gifts. Proceeds benefit the Yokota community.
Bag Sale Don't forget to take advantage of the Thrift Shop's monthly specials, held the last day of each month. Volunteers are ALWAYS needed! Have you been looking for a way to get involved with the Yokota community? The Thrift Shop is always in need of volunteers to help staff the store, especially during the summer months. Volunteers receive reimbursement of child care costs after 5 hours of service. Also, volunteers get first choice of all merchandise. If you are able to give some of your time to help the shop, please contact the Thrift Shop as soon as possible. Donations Wanted If you are unable to give your time, please consider donating the following items: mens', women's and children's clothing, kitchenware, kokeshi dolls, and toys. Operational supplies such as trash and plastic bags are also greatly appreciated! Hours of Operation: Mondays and Fridays and the first Saturday of the Month - 9am to 1pm Consignments are taken from 9 to 11:45 am or by appointment, just call 225-8296 to setup a drop off time.
